Michael Rose focuses his practice on the demands of complex civil litigation and jury trials. Through more than 20 years of litigation, he has represented both individuals and corporate entities such as Chevy’s, Emcor, Costco, and local Oregon municipalities and agencies. He has litigated cases in jury trials, state and federal appeals—all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Michael is licensed to practice in the State of Oregon, the Oregon federal district courts, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, the State of Washington, and before the United States Supreme Court.

Michael currently represents clients in medical and professional liability cases, complex injury litigation, and insurance coverage disputes. He is also an arbitrator and mediator on the Oregon State Bar panel for fee disputes. In 2021, the Oregon Supreme Court appointed Michael as a Circuit Court Judge Pro Tem for Multnomah County. A Pro Tem judge is not an elected judge but is appointed to help with the workload of the circuit court. His current assignment is to act as part of the panel of judges hearing summary judgment motions in civil matters in Multnomah County.

Michael earned his law degree from Northwestern School of Law of Lewis & Clark College, where he was honored with a Dean’s Fellowship. He holds a Master’s degree in Economics from Texas A&M University where he earned a Research Fellowship focused on applied statistics. He graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a degree in Economics and Environmental Studies.

Outside of the office, Michael regularly volunteers at the Oregon Food Bank, and enjoys spending time with his two children and coaching youth sports. Michael also runs marathons, restores vintage espresso machines and straight razors, and obsesses over finding the perfect pizza dough recipe for the wood oven he built in his backyard. He also received his private pilot’s license in 1994 and has logged hundreds of hours in small aircraft.
